The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Reproductive Health recently published a research
article in the journal
Fertility and Sterility evaluating assisted reproductive technology (ART) embryo transfer practices and their impact on multiple births. Based on analyses of data from CDC’s National ART Surveillance System, the authors found that almost half of ART-related multiple births result from transferring two embryos to young patients or recipients of donor eggs.
