Two new ways to use robots in the future. A team led by Professor Ron Alterovitz, PhD at UNC at Chapel Hill, is developing a snake-like robotic device to pinpoint deep brain tumors and then help doctors navigate through the skull to remove it as well as steerable needles to use in the lungs to diagnose abnormal growths.
