Dear colleagues,
The October issue of Health Communication Science Digest (HCSD or Digest) is now available athttp://www.cdc.gov/healthcommunication/ScienceDigest/index.html
In the Digest this month several studies examine health message design factors (Amerson, et al.; Bell, et al.; Cheng, et al.; Cox, et al.; Mah, et al.; Peels, et al.; Robbins & Niederdeppe; Robinson, et al.). Visual elements of health messages, in particular, are the focus of several reports (Ford, et al.; King, et al.; Monárrez-Espino, et al.; Nan, et al.). Research on the effectiveness of health communication interventionsis detailed by many writers (Backholer, et al.; Fosson, et al.; Higgs, et al.; Naugle & Hornik). There are also reports of innovative research on health education content design and delivery (Abu Abed, et al.; Ho, et al.; Kannampallil, et al.), new media and health (Kim & Sundar; Lee & Kim; Mano; McKinley & Wright; Modave, et al.; Zhao, et al.), and risk communication (Yang, et al.).
